With heavy rain in the forecast Sunday and more rain on the way Monday morning, some towns and cities have had to adjust plans for Memorial Day Events.
According to the National Weather Service, it was expected to rain up to an inch throughout the day on Sunday. On Monday, there’s a chance of showers through the early afternoon.
Here’s a what has been canceled, rescheduled and is happening as planned:
Darien
Darien Police Department Officials confirmed the Memorial Day Parade would be held on Monday at 10 a.m. through a Facebook post.
Easton
Easton City Officials have moved the Memorial Day Parade to Monday at 9:30 a.m.
Fairfield
Fairfield is following its schedule for the Memorial Day Parade on Monday at 10 a.m. However, Fairfield Police Department officials said the emergency management team will review weather conditions through the Memorial Day Weekend. If warranted, they will decide by 6:00 a.m. Monday to cancel the parade based on unsafe conditions.
Greenwich
Greenwich Police Department on Twitter said the Memorial Day Events have been moved to Monday starting at 8 a.m.
Groton
The city of Groton is still scheduled to have its Memorial Day 21-gun-salute on Monday.
Hamden
Hamden is scheduled to have its Remembrance Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Monument at 11 a.m. There was no update regarding cancellation or postponement.
Middletown
Middletown’s Memorial Day Parade is still scheduled for Monday at 10:30 a.m. There was no update regarding cancellation or postponement.
