After rain, mostly sunny skies the next few days

Clouds are expected to scatter from west to east this morning, becoming mostly sunny this afternoon.

Temperatures will run a few degrees above seasonable with breezy westerly winds.

Tonight some towns in northern Connecticut will see low temperatures in the 30s. Temperatures will be in the low 40s along the shoreline.

Dry conditions will then persist through Thursday with high pressure in control

Temperatures during this time frame will be a few degrees above normal, with highs in the 60s expected.

The forecast

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 66. West wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 43. Calm wind.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the evening.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.

Saturday Night: A 50 percent chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Sunday: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
