BRIDGEPORT — An officer came onto the city police radio waves with a priority — a pedestrian down in the road after being hit by a vehicle. The call came in around 8:40 p.m. when a Bridgeport police officer spotted a person down on the road in the area of Madison Avenue and Marion Street. Minutes later, additional police units, fire units and emergency medical services had been dispatched to the area. Officers that responded to the collision secured the scene immediately, protocol until there is an official update on the victim’s condition from hospital personnel. Around 8:45 p.m., police on scene told the dispatcher that the victim was conscious and talking. At 9:03 p.m.
