BRIDGEPORT — The city’s warming centers have opened their doors for residents trying to escape frigid temperatures Thursday. Anyone in need of overnight shelter can call 211 for information on the nearest ones available. When temperatures hit 25 degrees or below, the city collaborates with Prospect House and has the Bridgeport Islamic Community Center, 877 Park Ave., open its doors for overnight shelter as needed. The homeless are able to stay in the center from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Those looking to stay must arrived between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.; doors are locked after 9 p.m. Prospect House clients are urged to check in at the Prospect House before going to the BICC.
