The National Weather Service says a severe thunderstorm is capable of producing waterspouts in eastern Long Island Sound Monday morning. In its 6:47 a.m. Special Marine Statement for the Sound, east of New Haven, it says the thunderstorm will hit the mouth of the Connecticut River and Essex.
