Next month, when Americans return to the polls, much is at stake. While anxious eyes are on the national races for Senate and Congress, at home we will be electing Connecticut’s General Assembly and a new governor. Various polls, including one in mid-August by Sacred Heart University’s Institute for Public Policy, commissioned in conjunction with Hearst Connecticut Media, show Ned Lamont, the Democrat, leading Bob Stefanowski, the Republican, but there remains a significant number of undecided voters. In that poll, respondents clarified that their top issues in the governor’s race were high taxes, cost of living and our ongoing budget crisis.
