BRIDGEPORT — “A Night At the Museum” fundraiser at the Housatonic Museum of Art’s fall last week brought in more than $25,000 to support museum programming and the collection, college officials said. The event was held in the new Lafayette atrium on the Housatonic Community College campus and included a scavenger hunt, prizes, live music and desserts. The two-year community college is home to one of the largest college-based art collections in the country at close to 7,000 pieces that span from ancient to contemporary art. The art is on continuous display throughout the 300,000 square foot facility. Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit museum programming for children.
