Though the fatal mass shooting in Pittsburgh on Saturday sparked attention toward anti-Semitic behavior, that kind of hate has been apparent throughout Fairfield County for years, experts said. On Saturday, 46-year-old Robert Bowers opened fire at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh, killing 11 and injuring six. The Anti-Defamation League said its research showed the synagogue shooting was likely to be the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the nation’s history. In Fairfield County, police have investigated incidents involving anti-Semitic signs and symbols throughout the years.
