SHELTON — A year after Whitsons Culinary Group took over the food service operation for the school district it has settled on a contract with cafeteria workers. The tentative agreement means the picket signs and bullhorns that have marked many school board meetings throughout the 2017-18 school year will come to an end. "As a long time lunch lady, I am so proud of all the hard work in our fight to protect our livelihood,” said Janet Martin-Allen, who has worked in the district for 38 years. “In the end we were able to achieve a contract we are proud of.
