Goldfish, Ritz recalled for possible salmonella Whey powder used in multiple products — including Pepperidge Farm Goldfish and certain Ritz crackers — could be contaminated with salmonella, according to a rash of recalls. Salmonella is a microorganism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems. On Saturday, Mondelez Global LLC of New Jersey announced it was recalling certain Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits products due to the whey powder.
