Laurel Road offers help on medical student debt

A program from Laurel Road bank is looking to help ease student debt for medical professionals. The online lender and FDIC-insured bank based in Darien announced Wednesday it has partnered with the American Medical Association to help physicians save money on their medical school loans. As a result, Laurel Road is offering AMA members discounts and savings opportunities when they refinance with the bank. “We recognize the important role that refinancing can play in reducing the financial burden for young physicians,” said Alyssa Schaefer, chief marketing officer for Laurel Road, in a press release. Laurel Road has refinanced more than $3 billion in student loans nationwide.
