Restaurant owner Jocelyn Wright is bringing the taste of Jamaica to downtown Bridgeport. The Stratford resident is opening the Jamaican-inspired eatery and rum bar, JB Vibes, at 1020 Broad Street on Aug. 6. The restaurant will be opening in the former Barnum Publick House, a popular restaurant and bar that closed unexpectedly last summer. Now, Wright said she is looking to bring a mix of Caribbean flavor to the space and the community. “We know there is a demand for it and we are just supplying,” she said. “Very often, I would want to go with my family to dinner and go to a nice Jamaican restaurant for dinner ... there is no Jamaican restaurant where you can go and sit and have a nice dining in experience.
