Trumbull PD: Man stole motorcycle through online ad

TRUMBULL — Police are warning residents to be cautious when using services like Craigslist after a recent incident in town. On Monday, a New York resident reported to police that someone stole his motorcycle that he brought to Trumbull to sell. The seller said he put an ad on Craigslist and was contacted by a local man who said he was interested in purchasing the bike. Two two agreed to met at an address on Rocky Hill Terrace in town to make the exchange. When the two men at the agreed upon spot, the buyer said he wanted to take the bike for a test drive. Police said the seller agreed without taking down any information or collateral from the buyer. The buyer left on the bike and did not come back, police said.
