DERBY - Route 34 was closed for about 90 minutes Wednesday afternoon after a truck towing a wood chipper went off the road. Storm Engine Co./Ambulance Corps photos showed the truck on top of the guardrail. Just below the guardrail is the Housatonic River. Route 34, which is also called Roosevelt Drive, had to be closed to allow crews to remove the truck and wood chipper. No one was injured in the accident.
