A good deal of sunshine is expected Monday along with near to slightly above average temperatures as high pressure builds over the area, the National Weather Service says. Afternoon temperatures will climb mainly into the 70s, with some interior locations reaching the 80-degree mark. Clouds will begin increasing tonight as a frontal system from the OhioValley and Mid-Atlantic states advances towards the region. Chances for rain will increase late tonight and Tuesday morning, becoming likely with the possibility of a few rumbles of thunder during the afternoon and evening as a warm front lifts through. A cold front follows late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
