People’s United Bank will donate $5 million to Quinnipiac University to support two academic centers in the School of Business — the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Center for Women and Business. In addition, Quinnipiac’s sports center will be renamed the People’s United Center, effective July 1. The bank, a subsidiary of Bridgeport-based People’s United, Financial, and Quinnipiac announced the $10 million partnership on Thursday during a joint press conference at the University Club on Quinnipiac’s York Hill Campus. As part of the agreement, Quinnipiac will match the $5 million donation and move its university-wide banking to People’s for the terms of the agreement.
