FAIRFIELD - Due to high bacteria count, the Lake Mohegan swimming is closed Thursday afternoon and Friday, pending further testing. All coastal Fairfield swimming areas are open. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also said its beaches on Long Island Sound and inland ponds will be open for swimming this weekend.
