FAIRFIELD — There will be temporary no parking signs will be posted on streets leading up to Penfield Beach and driving under the influence checkpoints in the area of Penfield Beach Saturday. The traffic advisory is a precaution while Fairfield University hosts an event at the beach, police said. The no parking/tow zone signs will be put on all streets leading up to Penfield Beach, south of Quincy Street. The signs will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Vehicles parked on roads with temporary sings will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, police said. Fairfield cops will be stationed at DUI checkpoints from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the areas of Reef Road and Penfield Road.
