BRIDGEPORT -The family of a 15-year-old boy, who was sexually assaulted by a Stratford teacher’s aide, claims the youth’s counselors knew about the assaults but did not report it. Two separate lawsuits, filed in Superior Court here, claim counselors at The Boys & Girls Village in Milford and The Children’s Center of Hamden violated state law regarding the mandated reporting of sexual assaults against children and failed to provide proper care to the youth. In one instance, the lawsuits claim staff members at the Hamden center to the youth on outings so that they could “check out,” the teacher’s aide, Kyle Damato-Kushel, who was sexually assaulting the youth.
