Stratford: Special election in the 120th Tuesday

STRATFORD — Voters in Stratford’s 120th House district will go to the polls Tuesday to fill the unexpired term of former state Rep. Laura Hoydick, who resigned her seat in January after she was elected mayor. Democrat Phil Young is running against Republican Bill Cabral. Both are former Town Council members. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and polling places are at Lordship School, Stratford High, Nichols School, Wooster Middle School, Wilcoxson School, Chapel Street School, Bunnell High and Second Hill Lane School. Only those who live in the 120th will be eligible to vote — not everyone who usually votes at those schools will be allowed to vote. Schools will be open for classes as usual.
