A number of local school districts are planning community forums on school safety in the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 people dead. Shelton will host its forum at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 27, in the auditorium of Shelton High School, 120 Meadow Street. School district leaders along with Police Chief Shawn Sequeira and Ben Trabka, the school district’s security supervisor, will discuss current practices and hear concerns from families. “Hosting a community forum is an appropriate way to bring people together and to share ideas,” Shelton Schools Superintendent Chris Clouet said. “We want to ... hear the concerns parents, teachers and, of course, students may have.
