BRIDGEPORT — A person was assaulted and robbed in the city Friday evening, police spokesman Av Harris confirmed Saturday. Around 11 p.m. Friday, police responded to the area of Howard and Maplewood avenues for a report of an assault. Though reports on Friday indicated the victim’s Audi 400 was taken, Harris said Saturday he heard “nothing indicating a carjacking.” Reports indicate there were five unidentified suspects that assaulted and robbed the victim. Though Harris said there was no indication the victim’s car was taken, it was unclear what the suspects did take. No description of the suspects was made available Saturday.
