NORWALK — The Norwalk Police Department recently partnered up with a nonprofit organization to teach rape aggression defense training. The police department and Grace Farms, a cultural and community center with a location in New Canaan, held this training over the past several weeks. Rape aggression defense training is known as a program of realistic self-defense techniques and tactics. It typically includes a course that teaches awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance. The training was led by Norwalk police Sgt. Sofia Gulino, who was not immediately available for comment. She led the attendees through a course that involved classroom and practical evolutions.
