BRIDGEPORT - A Milford man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to raping a Stratford woman he met through an online dating website. Carmen Tragianese, 56, of Centennial Drive, pleaded not guilty before Superior Court Judge Robin Pavia to first-degree sexual assault, second-degree unlawful restraint and fourth-degree sexual assault. He requested a jury trial. “He is presumed innocent and we look forward to vigorously defending against these allegations in court,” Tragianese’s lawyer, Edward Gavin, said as they left the Fairfield County Courthouse. Stratford police said the woman had contacted Tragianese through a dating website last July and arranged to meet at a restaurant in Stratford for dinner.
