SHELTON — Michael Yu insisted his English wasn’t good but the high school sophomore had no problem begging off a doughnut or wowing his hosts with a couple of numbers on a piano. “I really can’t play well,” he insisted, before proceeding to pound rapid fire across on the keyboard. Students around him whipped out cell phones to capture the moment on video. Shelton High School Headmaster Beth Smith followed suit. It was the type of experience she was hoping for as 30 students and two teachers from Jianping High School in Shanghai spent Wednesday in-bedded at what is becoming their sister high school. “Very exciting,” Smith said.
