Rochelle vs. Jaumann looks like the race for Ansonia state rep

ANSONIA — Many names were floated. But only two candidates are emerging for this fall’s battle to replace longtime state Rep. Linda Gentile, who has announced that this, her seventh term, will be her last. It appears that Joseph Jaumann, a Bridgeport lawyer and Ansonia alderman who ran against Gentile as the Republican in 2016, will be his party’s candidate again for the 104th District state House seat. The front-running Democrat is Kara Rochelle, a Seymour native who lives in Derby and heads the Naugatuck Valley Young Democrats. Rochelle ran last fall for a seat on Derby’s Board of Apportionment and Taxation but was defeated amid a Republican landslide.
