BRIDGEPORT — Tuesday night’s shooting victim is still alive, despite incorrect information from city officials saying it was a homicide. Police spokesman Av Harris said Wednesday afternoon that the 19-year-old shot Tuesday is still hooked up to life support. “Neurologists are doing final checks of vital signs to determine if he’s brain dead,” Harris said. If that determination is made, Harris said the breathing tube will be removed “at some point.” “It will end up as a homicide,” he added. Around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, police Capt. Roderick Porter was en route to the scene and said the shooting victim was a 19-year-old who had been shot in the head.
