Ansonia hopes to keep down costs by sharing servings with other school districts

ANSONIA-With a study for regionalization expected to be approved the city is hoping to further reduce education costs by sharing services with other school districts in the Valley and beyond. On Wednesday night Joseph Jaumann, a fifth ward alderman and Republican state representative candidate and John Izzo, a Republican board of education member urged the city’s school board to move aggressively on. “I’m encouraging the board to embrace as many shared services as possible,” Izzo said. “These include grant writings, payroll, iinsurance, bulk purchases, administration, facilities—just about anything.” And Izzo said the services don’t have to be shared with other Valley boards or cities.
