A crash on the Merritt Parkway on Saturday was related to a stolen vehicle theft investigation, according to Stratford police. The crash closed the northbound lanes of the Merritt between Exits 46 and 47 in Fairfield. On Monday morning, Sgt. Jamie J. Rivera released more details of the incident. In a statement, Rivera said, “On Saturday 11/25/2017 at around 3:48 p.m., Stratford police and K-9 units along with other agencies' assisted State Troopers in trying to apprehend suspects, who were operating a stolen vehicle and fled the scene of a crash that took place on the Merritt Parkway. “The suspects then stole another vehicle in Stratford, subsequently crashed and fled again on foot.
