STRATFORD — Laura Hoydick, who defeated Stephanie Philips and Sandra Zalik to become Stratford’s third mayor, raised the most and spent the most according to the campaign finance statements filed by the three women who ran for mayor. Hoydick, the Republican candidate, defeated Democrat Philips and petitioning candidate Zalik in the Nov. 7 contest. Hoydick won comfortably, getting 5,738 votes, 612 votes more than Philips, who collected took 5,126 votes. Zalik finished a distant third with 688 votes. All three candidates still have to file their final campaign statements, which aren’t due until early next year. But the statements on file, which reflect their campaign financial situations a week prior to the Nov.
